Dr. Huang Guoxi said that compared with the common 1μm band near-infrared laser, the short wavelength of the green laser naturally has a lower beam divergence angle and a smaller focused spot, and the material also has a higher absorption rate for green light. Therefore, it has more advantages in the processing of highly reflective metals (copper, aluminum, gold, silver, etc.).
At present, kilowatt-class high-power fiber green lasers have a wide range of industrial applications, such as copper material welding in the lithium battery industry, solar cell manufacturing, copper foil cutting for electronic products, and metal 3D printing. In particular, based on the current vigorous development of high-power fiber laser technology, green fiber lasers with high average power, good beam quality, and strong stability will usher in broad application prospects.
Next, Dr. Huang elaborated on the difficulties, pain points and analysis of welding high-reflective materials (copper) in traditional power battery welding processes, and demonstrated Gongda Laser's solutions and advantages for copper metal-related welding in mainstream power batteries.
